On October 18, 2025, Global French Education welcomed 15 participants to an open French class at 1 Bartley Bull Pkwy, Brampton, ON L6W 3T7. The session was intended for beginners and learners exploring practical French.
Beyond the name of a dish
This smaller restaurant class focused on how a request is made. Food and drink vocabulary supplied the content, while polite sentence patterns shaped the interaction. The teacher connected wording and tone with the everyday task of ordering, showing how a short request can be both clear and considerate.
Putting the language into practice
Participants took turns placing orders in simulated exchanges. Returning to a familiar request gave room to pay attention to pronunciation and delivery as well as vocabulary. Courtesy was treated as part of practical speaking, including the greeting before the request and the thanks that might follow it.

A practice idea to take further
Compare Un thé with Bonjour, je voudrais un thé, s’il vous plaît. Practise the complete request at a comfortable pace, then change the drink without dropping the greeting or polite ending.
A short exercise is most useful when you return to it. Revisit the exchange on another day, change one detail and notice what you can say without checking your notes. Use any remaining hesitation to choose a question for your next lesson.
