About the school

Global French Education is a small-group French school in Brampton, Ontario, offering French courses and TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation.

Global French Education (Global French Education Inc., registered in March 2024) is in Brampton, Ontario. We teach French and prepare students for TEF / TCF Canada, for newcomers, international students and working professionals.

Our classes are taught entirely in French, in small groups, with a learning path built on the CEFR levels. Before you enrol, you know how long it will take and what level you can reach.

Why we exist

Our starting point is very practical.

In the Greater Toronto Area, more and more people need French: Express Entry applicants need TEF / TCF Canada scores, people heading to Quebec need the TEFAQ, children in French immersion need after-school support, and others simply want to use French in daily life in Canada. But the options often suit nobody. In large groups or recorded classes, you finish without being able to speak; one-on-one lessons cost too much to keep up over time.

Since the company was set up in March 2024, we have done one thing: we teach French until you can both pass the exam and speak.

Three beliefs

1. A language is practised, not just heard. More than half of each class is spent speaking. The teacher talks less; the students talk more.

2. Levels must be real levels. You take a test before admission, and groups are not formed in order of registration. Your level depends on where you are now, not on the package you bought.

3. An exam measures ability, not tricks. We teach the exam formats and the language skills behind them. That is why our classes do not try to guess the questions.

How we teach

Four steps, each with someone responsible:

  1. Placement test: free, 40 minutes (30 minutes written and 10 minutes oral). It gives your current level and a recommended path.
  2. Learning path: how many levels, how many hours, and roughly when you can take the exam, written down in a plan before you enrol.
  3. Weekly mock exams and marking: run to the real exam timing and scoring criteria, with a score for each section.
  4. Results and review: once you have your results, we go through the points you lost and decide whether to keep reinforcing or move to the next stage.

What we teach

From A1 (beginner) to reinforced B2, plus intensive TEF / TCF Canada preparation, targeted speaking and writing courses, French for children and teens, and corporate training.
