Details of each step
Step 2: placement test
- Format: 40 minutes in all: a 30-minute written test (listening, reading, grammar) plus a 10-minute speaking test
- Where: on site, or online (video and screen sharing)
- Result: verbal feedback on the spot, written advice within 24 hours
- Cost: free, and no need to register first
The written advice covers four things: your current level, the recommended starting point, the expected timeline, and when you can sit the exam.

Step 5: payment methods

There is no registration fee. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax; 13% HST is added at checkout. See the prices.
Your place is secured only after payment. A verbal hold lasts 48 hours at most.
Step 6: before classes start
Two days before classes begin, you will receive:
- Resource library account (course notes, question bank, mock exams)
- Class group invitation (your classmates and teacher)
- First-class notice (time, location or meeting link, what to bring)
When classes start
A new group starts every month. A group opens as soon as 4 students have enrolled (8 at most). Class times: weekdays 18:30–21:00, Saturdays 10:00–17:00. One-on-one lessons can start at any time; teen and preschool classes run by school term (September / January / April).
Joining a level in progress: class hours are fixed for each level. If you join a level that has already started, you pay for the remaining hours.
Three common sticking points
“The test placed me one level lower than I expected” This is common. People usually rate themselves half a level to one level too high. Going by the test result is faster than going by expectations.
“The class I wanted is full” Wait for the next group (usually a month), or start with one-on-one lessons in the meantime. We do not raise the class size limit to fill a group.
“Can I change my start date after paying?” More than 7 days before the start, you can move to the next intake once for free. Within 7 days, $70 is deducted.
Cancellation, refunds and rescheduling

If you leave a bundle part-way, the hours attended are recalculated at the single-course price and the bundle discount is not refunded. All the rules are on the prices page and in the terms.
