Class hours are only time: what you learn depends on what fills that time.
Each of our courses comes with three things: handouts, an exercise bank and mock exams. One student account opens all three, valid for one year. The textbook (printed handouts plus the online exercise bank for one year) costs $84 per level before tax and is included in every bundle (see Prices).
Course handouts
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Basis | Written from CECRL (CEFR) descriptors; each level has clear competence goals |
| Structure | Each module includes: a grammar point, communication tasks, a vocabulary theme, after-class exercises and a progress assessment |
| Format | Printed handouts (given out in class) plus an electronic version (downloadable from your account) |
| Consistency | One set per level: teachers may add, never remove |
| Updates | Revised once a year |
“May add, never remove” is not a slogan: it ensures that if you change teacher or class, you do not miss anything you are supposed to learn.
Exercise bank
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Organization | By skill (listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary), not piled up by year |
| Difficulty | Each exercise is labelled with its CECRL level; you can practise only your current level |
| Error notebook | Recorded automatically, filterable by type of error |
| Explanations | Every question is explained; listening exercises include the transcript and key-word notes |
| Updates | New exercises added every month |
Mock exams
- Real time limits, with no pause during the test
- Results the same day: your four scores and a breakdown of where you lost points
- A dedicated mock-exam room, separate from the teaching area; the listening section is played once; one invigilator per session
- The speaking part is taken at the school (or by submitting an online recording)
- Price: $42 per mock exam; enrolled students get one free per month
See the Mock exams page.
Listening and reading material
Organized by level, not a random selection of recordings:
| Level | Type of material |
|---|---|
| A1–A2 | Slow dialogues, everyday situations, short announcements |
| B1 | Radio news, interview extracts, everyday-life podcasts |
| B2 | Full news reports, debate extracts, lectures |
| C1 | Unabridged lectures, academic interviews |
The biggest trap in French listening is textbook audio that is “too standard”. At real speed there are liaisons, elisions and accents. They need to be in the material so you are not caught off guard on exam day.
Writing models and corrected samples
- For each level, 10 model texts, marked to show where points are won and lost
- 3 “weak, average, good” versions of the same topic: three ways of writing the same answer
- Your corrected texts are archived so you can look back at your progress
